7 Days in Agadir by Car: A Complete Itinerary That Actually Works

7-Day Agadir Itinerary by Car: The Full Programme

A week with a hire car in Agadir opens a significant radius. The Atlantic surf coast to the north, the Anti-Atlas inland, the Souss plain, the imperial cities half a day's drive away — the options are genuinely extensive. This itinerary balances rest and exploration, and remains realistic in terms of distances and daily drives.

---

Day 1 — Arrival and Orientation

Al Massira Airport → settle in → Corniche

The first day is a transition day. Collect your car, check into your accommodation (Founty, Hay Mohammadi, or the Corniche hotel zone depending on your choice), and don't plan anything ambitious.

In the evening, walk the Corniche. The seafront restaurants are touristy but decent. Light dinner, good night's sleep.

---

Day 2 — Agadir Itself

Souk El Had → Kasbah d'Agadir Oufella → Inzgane

Spend the morning at the Souk El Had — Morocco's largest covered market. Arrive before 10h to see it at its most vibrant. Budget an hour at minimum, two if you like to wander.

In the afternoon, drive up to the Kasbah d'Agadir Oufella on the hill overlooking the city (accessible by car to a car park on the lower slope). The view over Agadir Bay at sunset is one of the finest on the Atlantic coast.

Late afternoon: a brief detour to Inzgane if there's a market day (Monday or Thursday) and to fill up at a slightly cheaper fuel station than in the city centre.

---

Day 3 — The Northern Surf Coast

Agadir → Aourir → Taghazout → Tamraght → return

Leave early to avoid midday heat on the coast. The N1 north runs along the Atlantic continuously. Stop at Aourir, walk the main street of Taghazout, watch the surfers from the rocks above Anchor Point, and have lunch at one of Tamraght's café terraces above the beach.

Return in the afternoon or evening at your own pace.

---

Day 4 — Paradise Valley and Immouzer

Agadir → N1 north → Imi Ouaddar → mountain road → Immouzer → Paradise Valley

A full day for the mountain excursion. Leave before 9h. The road after Imi Ouaddar is a series of switchbacks climbing into the Ida-Outanane hills — spectacular from the first bend.

Natural pools in the afternoon, café terraces above the valley, return around 17h–18h.

---

Day 5 — Taroudant

Agadir → Inzgane → N10 → Taroudant (full day)

The N10 east leads to Taroudant in under an hour. Morning for the ramparts and souks, lunch on the Assaraghna square, afternoon for the artisan workshops.

Option: stay overnight in a Taroudant riad and drive back the following morning.

---

Day 6 — Souss-Massa National Park

Agadir → southern coast → Sidi Rbat → Souss-Massa Park

Leave early for the best birdwatching. The southern coastal road from Inzgane hugs the shoreline before entering the park.

Take binoculars. The bald ibis, the flamingos on the estuary, and the beach at Sidi Rbat make for a full morning. Return early afternoon, free afternoon in Agadir.

---

Day 7 — Final Morning, Departure

Free morning → vehicle return → airport

The last morning is for anything missed or a final walk on the Corniche. Build in a comfortable margin before returning the car and heading to the airport — the drive from central Agadir takes about 25 minutes without traffic.

---

What This Itinerary Doesn't Cover

In 7 days, not everything is possible. This programme leaves out Essaouira (ideal for an extra overnight), the Anti-Atlas and Tafraoute (at least an additional day), and Marrakech (better handled as a separate 2-night trip). If your stay is longer, these destinations slot naturally into this programme.

Logistics: The Berkars Approach

Berkars offers weekly hire with pickup at the airport or delivery to your accommodation. For an itinerary like this, we recommend a diesel mid-size vehicle (Logan, Clio, or Duster for families). Book at least 5 days in advance in high season (July-August and European school holidays).
