Anti-Atlas Car Road Trip from Agadir – Tafraout, Gorges & Almond Blossom
The Anti-Atlas is Morocco's hidden landscape — and for good reason: its pink granite scenery, almond trees in blossom (January–February), forgotten gorges and stone villages clinging to cliffsides feature in no mass-market tour itinerary. Yet from Agadir, Tafraout is just 170 km via the N10 and R108 (around 3 hours).
BERKARS recommends an SUV or 4x4 for the Anti-Atlas: the pistes between Tafraout, Aït Herbil and the Aït Mansour gorges require sufficient ground clearance. The Dacia Duster diesel is our top choice for this itinerary. Unlimited mileage included, comprehensive insurance valid on marked Moroccan pistes.

Frequently asked questions
Q.Can we do Agadir–Tafraout as a day trip?
Yes, but it's tight. With 3 hours of driving each way, you're left with only 2–3 hours on site. We recommend spending one night in Tafraout to explore the gorges properly the following morning.
Q.When is the best time to explore the Anti-Atlas?
Winter (December–March) brings cool, pleasant temperatures and almond blossom from January–February. Spring (March–April) has vibrant colours. Avoid summer: temperatures on the pistes exceed 40°C.
Q.Are there petrol stations on the road to Tafraout?
Stations are available in Tiznit and Tafraout itself. Fill up in Tiznit before taking the R108 towards Tafraout. Distances between stations are long in this region.
